One of the biggest mistakes young fashion designers make is failing to understand what their target market wants and needs. Many young designers are focused on their own creative expression, rather than taking into consideration what the consumer is looking for in terms of style, quality, and price. Additionally, many young designers lack the proper business acuity needed to be successful in the industry. Lastly, young designers often commit too much of their resources to their first collections instead of investing in creating an overall strategy and long-term objectives.
